Have there been some unexpected developments in the online Furby customization scene? Who’s out there in your part of the world, doing something totally unique and worth writing a feature about?

 

Before you do any heavy reporting, email us a pitch of your idea so that we can give it the go-ahead. Tell us what you think the piece will end up looking like, why YOU’RE the one to tell this story, and what you’ll need to accomplish in order to get all the information to write it. The best pitches aren’t overviews of a topic: They’re zoomed-in glimpses of the most exciting things happening within that topic or world. Note that “exciting” is highly subjective and very much something that you can generate through your own enthusiasm for the story. 

 

The pitch should be 200-400 words in length, and stories will likely be 500-1000 words long.
